Latest Waris Dirie Foundation Campaign receives award in Berlin

“Stop FGM Now”, the latest campaign of the Waris Dirie Foundation which was developed by the Berlin-based agency Heymann Brandt de Gelmini has been awarded the Franz von Mendelsson Award in Berlin last week.

René Heymann, CEO of Heymann Brandt de Gelmini, who has developed the campaign after meeting Waris Dirie and the team of her foundation in the summer of 2009:
“Stop FGM Now is already the most succeful private awareness raising campaign on the issue of female genital mutilation ever. Within the first five month of launching the campaign, more than 100 Million people have been reached. Media from the US to Japan, from Mexico to Russia covered the campaign. The TV spot is currently being shown in 29 countries, amongst others on RTL, VOX, n-tv and euronews, and reaches more than 200 million viewers. The campaign website attracts 30.000 visitors a months and the spot has been watched on social media plattforms more than 50.000 times. On facebook, the campaign has 4000 fans from 20 countries – and the numbers are still increasing.
