The movie Desert Flower is finally coming the the US. As we reported earlier, it will be distributed by National Geographics.

Official release date is March 18th 2011. The movie will also be shown at several filmfestivals throughout the US.

“I am very happy that the movie will finally be shown in the US”, Waris Dirie commented the US release. “As we know, many women and girls in the US are affected or threatened by FGM, and it is very important that this issue will receive more attention from the American public!”

On March 10th, the movie will be shown at the Cinequest Film Festival. Other screenings include the Cleveland International Filmfestival on the 29th and 30th of March.
