“Education is the only way to eradicate FGM in the long-term” says Waris Dirie, President of the Waris Dirie Foundation. “This is why we will support schools in countries neighbouring Somalia that are willing to take in girls from Somali refugee families.”

Due to the ongoing violent conflict in Somalia, thousands of Somalis live in overcrowded refugee camps in neighbouring countries such as Kenya.
