3,200 children already get a school education through our projects

And in Sierra Leone, we are currently building our fourth school for another 400 children

We are building a fourth school in Sierra Leone.

"EDUCATION IS THE ONLY WAY TO ERADICATE FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION ONCE AND FOR ALL!", says Waris Dirie, founder of the Desert Flower Foundation.

That's why we started the big Desert Flower education initiative in Africa six years ago. Today we are proud to share the next great news with you. Thanks to a generous donation from the Africa Aweee Foundation, we are able to build our fourth school in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The Africa Aweee school is located in Hastings, near the capital Freetown, and will provide a school place for another 400 children.

Together with our other three schools, this will enable us to provide schooling for a total of 1,600 children. If we add our 1,600 sponsorships ("Save a Little Desert Flower") in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Djibouti, 3,200 children are now receiving a regular school education through the Desert Flower Foundation Impact Programme.

Education is our strongest weapon! Our promise to you: We will definitely not let up.

Thank you very much for your valuable support!
