School education instead of circumcision of little girls

Next construction phase of first "Desert Flower School" completed

YES to school education - NO to female genital mutilation! The construction of the first "Desert Flower School" in Sierra Leone is currently the most important project for Waris Dirie and her Desert Flower Foundation. Why? Education for girls is the strongest weapon in the fight against the terrible crime FGM! That's why Waris Dirie is happy that the next construction phase was recently completed: "The schedule will be kept, until the opening in September everything should run out. Our school will help many girls to lead a more self-determined life in the future".

Right next to the school a "Safe House" with a school library will be built at the same time. There the roof is already finished. Father Peter Konteh, head of the Desert Flower Foundation Sierra Leone, who supervises the construction on site for us, reports that the installation of sanitary facilities has now begun. And at the first "Desert Flower School" for 400 children all foundation walls have been built, now the next construction phase starts. Soon the school building will also be roofed over. In the video above you can see the construction progress.

The project "Desert Flower School" in Sierra Leone is made possible with the help of your donations. Thank you very much for your generous support!
