Francess, 10 years old: A new life thanks to Desert Flower Foundation

Francess is 10 years old and the only surviving child of her mother Mariama C.
Mariama gave birth to 6 children. Tragically all of them, except Francess, died soon after their birth.
Because of that, her husband's family accused Mariama of being a witch and she had to leave her village with her 3 year old daughter Francess over night.

In 2011 she escaped to Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, fearing the wrath and revenge of the family, to find work and a new home.
But this plan failed and life in the streets and slums became hell for mother and child.

In 2014 Mariama asked for help from the recently established Desert Flower Foundation Sierra Leone and her little daughter Francess was accepted into the sponsorship program.
Ever since, Francess has been attending the Anerdan School in Allentown, which has worked closely with the Desert Flower Foundation since the very beginning.

Her mother could even set up a small business and hence an existence with our support money.
With the help of our donors, the lives of the two have changed for the better, and today they are both very grateful.

Please support a little Desert Flower!
